| Protest in front of the EU-Conference Building during the Council of the European Union (Justice and Home Affairs), 1st of December 2009, Brussels |
 |
if you look to the photos above, it seems that we could block the entrance of the eu-conference building for some time ..., but it was only for a very few minutes, that we could move in front of the gate, the police immediately pushed us back to the the other side of the street, where our small symbolic protest (with about 50 people from various countries and a real loud siren! see the last picture) took place for 2 hours. nevertheless we think it was useful to be present in brussels and to protest against "another 5 years program of death and detention". some journalists visited the press-conference the day before, a public screening (with the voices of pagani) was made in the pedestrian area, and about 70 people attended the transnational talk (evening event) with speakers from greece, turkey, morocco .... we also had some talks with interested eu-parlamentarians and finally a networking meeting with activists from morocco, sweden, uk, italy, belgium and germany took place too.
